Have I mentioned how much I really like working in my new office? You can't beat the 20 minute walking commute and the location is super. We can walk Sebastian to school too!
I took some pictures to send to Sebastian while I was in England.
He saw them and apparently said "Daddy and Daddy's Daddy, Granddad."
Sebastian's gear toy arrived today and I couldn't resist a quick play. It does go together very easily and there are countless configurations possible.
Oh, yeah. It's ace fun too.
If you're wondering why Eclipse keeps on crashing when rendering an autocompletion pop-up then see the following bug:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=522635
The workaround for now is to use the XULRunner 1.9.2 shipped with Ubuntu rather than the older version shipped with Eclipse. Do this by using the following:
eclipse -vmargs -Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.XULRunnerPath=/usr/bin/xulrunner
There's also a workaround involving setting GRE_HOME to a nonsense path, e.g. /tmp.
Input time. I thought it was a bit light on computing bits and bobs, so added some classic items from my own boxes of junk archives. I put in couple of sample boxes of Maxim ICs, an Athlon 64 processor, a keyboard-powered hub, a regular hub, some interposers, a CF 802.11b card, and a PCMCIA modem.
Siobhan suggested I start a new box, based on the state of my archives, I probably could.
What to take? Ooo, an LCD matrix, hex tools, cable wraps and a momentary press button.
The day-to-day necessities...
